This unguided trip departs from the harbor of Parga at 10:55am and 11:00am from Valtos beach, we cruise south along the stunning Epirus coastline, making multiple short stops to explore hidden churches by the cliffs, small inaccessible bays and the little island mid-sea that is house to the church of St. Nikolas.
Our first stop is at the mystical mouth of the Acheron River, known in Greek mythology as the gateway to the underworld. Marvel at the hidden river caves and hear fascinating stories about this sacred waterway and its place in Greek legend. Time for the 1st swim.
Next, we head to the peaceful Ai Giannakis Bay, where we visit the freshwater spring mid-sea, said to have enchanted Morpheus the god of dreams. According to myth, he drank from its waters and fell into a deep slumber.
We then make our second swimming stop at a small, secluded beach and get to experience the enchanting emerald waters for 45 minutes.
We then sail toward the majestic Cave of Aphrodite in Lichnos, where we pause to take in its beauty and reflect on the tale of the goddess of love said to be residing within.
After the cave, we continue for our second swimming spot the hidden Gavriil Beach, a secluded paradise perfect for swimming in crystal-clear waters. Here, you can also explore a secret spring flowing from the rock, a tranquil and refreshing natural wonder.
The boat crew then start the preparations for the lunch to be served.
Please note that the boat will leave the beach at 15:45 for approximately 1 hour and will be back in time to take us back to the port of Parga.
We return to Parga around 17:00, carrying with us not only memories of scenic beauty and warm hospitality but also whispers of ancient myths that live on in these magical places.
